Autumn Leaves

Last fall I decided to do a small works series on autumn leaves. Utilizing my own screen-printed fabrics, I created these pieces - adding to a "metaphors on aging" theme of my work.

The processes of what is known as "breakdown screening" (Benn & Morgan and "deconstructive screen- ing" (K. Grabowski) added to capturing "aging" imagery.

Soaring Seagull

"Soaring Seagull" was created as a visual for a haiku that I wrote:

Seagull soars freely

Wings glide on warm, gentle breeze

Swirling, magical sky

"Soaring Seagull" is part of SAQA's 25th Anniversary Trunk Show. The piece was selected to remain in the National Quilt Museum in Paducah, Kentucky after the national and international traveling exhibit is completed.
